For motorcycle maintenance, first of all, pay attention to the maintenance during the running-in period of the new car. Although the machining surface of the parts of the new car meets the requirements of machining accuracy, it is still relatively rough compared with the good running-in, the assembly gap is small, the contact surfaces are uneven, and the parts are in the high-speed wear stage at this time. There are a lot of metal chips falling off during the friction during the movement, resulting in the high surface temperature of the motorcycle parts and poor lubrication effect. In order to reduce the initial wear speed of the parts and extend the service life, the motorcycle has a running-in period, generally about 1500km.

 

In addition to using according to the instructions, the running-in period should also comply with the following rules:

1. Do not use one gear or one speed for a long time.

2. Try not to drive at high speed, especially for a long time.

3. Avoid full throttle opening, And low gear and high speed.

4. Do not allow the engine to run under excessive load to avoid overheating.

5. After the new car reaches the mileage required by the first service, the engine oil and filter should be replaced in time.

 

Change the oil regularly

The engine is the heart of the motorcycle, and the oil is the blood of the engine. The function of engine oil is not only to form lubricating oil film on the friction surface of each moving part (replace sliding and rolling friction between solids with friction between liquids) for lubrication, reduce the friction resistance of the parts, but also play the role of cleaning, cooling, corrosion prevention, etc.

The engine oil will deteriorate after being used for a long time, because the unburned gasoline will flow into the crankcase from the gap of the piston ring, making the engine oil thinner; The engine oil will clean the metal chips after the wear of the parts and the carbon deposit formed after combustion, making the engine oil dirty; Deteriorated oil will destroy the lubricating effect and accelerate the engine wear.

The shortage of engine oil and the inferior quality will directly affect the service performance and service life of the engine. Especially for motorcycles with the overhead camshaft valve train, because the camshaft position of the overhead valve train is high, its lubrication effect is completely dependent on the oil pumped by the oil pump, and the oil at the cylinder head will quickly return to the gearbox, so a more reliable and good lubrication system is required to ensure it, The fresh oil must be replaced regularly.

Generally, the following aspects should be noted when changing the oil:

1. The engine oil should be replaced in the hot state of the engine, because in the hot state, the dirty oil in the engine crankcase has good fluidity and can flow out of the oil hole better. If necessary, add fresh engine oil or diesel oil for flushing.

2. When replacing the engine oil and filter, compressed air can be used to dry if conditions permit, so as to avoid blocking the oil stain or affecting the oil supply.

3. Replace with fresh engine oil, make it between the upper and lower limits of the engine oil scale, and shut down the engine for recheck after starting for a few minutes.

4. Select oil with different viscosity according to the air temperature.
