The motorcycle wheel is composed of wheel hub, tire and other components. Due to various manufacturing reasons, the overall weight of the wheel is not balanced. It is not obvious at low speed, but at high speed, the unstable balance weight of each part of the wheel will cause the wheel to shake and the steering handle to shake. In order to reduce vibration or avoid this situation, add lead blocks on the wheel hub to increase the wheel counterweight and balance the wheel edges. The whole process of calibration is dynamic balance.

Dynamic balance is generally common in cars. Many car owners have an accident or hit a kerb. The first reaction is to do a dynamic balance test. In fact, motorcycles also need dynamic balance test. Dynamic balance is a problem that most motorcycle riders ignore. Many motorcycle riders think that they don’t need to do it if they are not fast. People are more concerned about the tread pattern, tire pressure, wear degree, etc.

Generally, cars without dynamic balance will feel the body floating when driving at high speed, and in serious cases, the rear wheels will shake, and the motorcycle tires will slip when turning. During the driving process, the motorcycle tires will continue to undergo sudden acceleration and braking cycles, resulting in uneven tire wear.

However, if you stick some lead blocks in the hub ring, although it only adds a few grams or more, it can avoid these dangers. If the handlebar shakes or the wheel makes some abnormal noise when driving at high speed, it is necessary to do dynamic balancing, especially when the balance weight is lost due to tire replacement, tire repair, wheel impact and bumps.

The vehicle without dynamic balance will generate severe vibration when driving at high speed. The vibration force generated by the tire contacting the ground will be transmitted to the driver through the shock absorption. Frequent vibration or large vibration amplitude will lead to loss and relaxation of the suspension system, and in serious cases, the wheel will break off.

At present, many super-running motorcycles can reach 299 km/h. If there is no good tire and dynamic balance support, the direction jitter will be obvious during high-speed driving, and the tire wear will also be accelerated, resulting in unexpected accidents.

Generally, the following points should be paid attention to when performing dynamic balancing:

1. Use new tires for dynamic balancing, preferably tires with low flattening rate.

2. After balancing, do not change to an old tire, and do not hit the wrong side.

3. Motorcycle dynamic balance test is only applicable to tyres with alloy wheels.
