The electric circuit of motorcycle is basically similar to that of automobile. The electrical circuit is divided into power supply, ignition, lighting, instrument and audio.

The power supply is generally composed of alternator (or powered by magneto charging coil), rectifier and battery. The magneto used for motorcycles also has various structures according to the different models of motorcycles. Generally, there are two types of flywheel magneto and magnetic steel rotor magneto.

There are three kinds of motorcycle ignition methods: battery ignition system, magneto ignition system and transistor ignition system. In the ignition system, there are two types of contactless capacitor discharge ignition and contactless capacitor discharge ignition. The English abbreviation of contactless capacitor discharge is C.D.I. In fact, C.D.I refers to the combined circuit composed of capacitor charge and discharge circuit and thyristor switch circuit, commonly known as electronic igniter.

Front and rear shock absorption. Like cars, motorcycle suspension has two most important functions, which are also well-known to us: absorbing the vibration of the car body caused by uneven ground, making the whole ride more comfortable; At the same time, keep the tire in contact with the ground to ensure the power output of the tire to the ground. On our motorcycle, there are two suspension components: one is located at the front wheel, usually called the front fork; The other is at the rear wheel, usually called rear shock absorber.

The front fork is the guiding mechanism of the motorcycle, which organically connects the frame with the front wheel. The front fork is composed of front shock absorber, upper and lower connecting plates, and square column. The steering column is welded with the lower connecting plate. The steering column is packaged in the front sleeve of the frame. In order to make the steering column turn flexibly, the upper and lower journal parts of the steering column are equipped with axial thrust ball bearings. The left and right front shock absorbers are connected into front forks through the upper and lower connecting plates.

The front shock absorber is used to reduce the vibration caused by the impact load of the front wheel and keep the motorcycle running smoothly. The rear shock absorber and the rear rocker arm of the frame form the rear suspension device of the motorcycle. The rear suspension device is an elastic connection device between the frame and the rear wheel, which bears the load of the motorcycle, slows down and absorbs the impact and vibration transmitted to the rear wheel due to uneven road surface.

Generally speaking, the shock absorber consists of two parts: spring and damper。

The spring is the main body of the suspension. This spring is very similar to the spring in the ballpoint pen we usually use, but its strength is much higher. The spring absorbs the impact force of the ground through its tightness, while ensuring the contact between the tire and the ground; The damper is a device used to control the spring tightness and rebound force.

The damper is like a pump filled with oil. The speed of the air pump moving up and down depends on the size of the oil supply hole and the viscosity of the oil. All cars have springs and damping. On the front fork, the springs are hidden; On the rear shock absorber, the spring is exposed to the outside.

If the shock absorber is too hard and the vehicle vibrates violently, the driver will be constantly impacted. If it is too soft, the vibration frequency and vibration amplitude of the vehicle will make the driver feel uncomfortable. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the damping regularly.
